Have a nice trip!

The tradition of sitting for a minute before leaving —a family custom I know from my childhood. It was only later that I learned that this seemingly small and intimate gesture has a deeper historical meaning: during the early Soviet era, especially in the 1920s and 1930s, Orthodox believers were systematically persecuted in the USSR. Public prayer was banned, and many people were imprisoned or executed for their beliefs. In order to preserve a moment of pause before a journey, believers began to sit down silently—on a bench at the train station or on their luggage, for example—and pray in silence.

The work is about moving and the tradition of sitting for a minute before leaving
The installation invites the viewer to come in, explore, listen, and leave.
